Skills

Store reusable playbooks as SKILL.md files in your project so RevampKey follows how your team writes, tests and releases.

A skill is a short playbook in a plain file. It tells RevampKey how your team does one thing, such as writing tests, reviewing changes or preparing a release, so you do not have to repeat it in every conversation.

  1. Create a skill folder

Inside your project, create a folder for the skill under .revampkey/skills or .agents/skills.

  2. Write a SKILL.md file

Start the file with a name and a one-line description, then write the instructions in plain Markdown. The description should say when the skill applies.

  3. Work as usual

RevampKey reads each skill's description and opens the full file when the task matches. The chat shows each skill as it loads.

  4. Review and version it

A skill is a file in your repository, so you can review, change and commit it like any other file.

What a skill file looks like

---
name: booking-conventions
description: How we store times and write booking tests. Use when changing bookings.
---

# Booking conventions

- Store every time in UTC with the client's time zone.
- A reschedule moves a booking; it never creates a second one.

Skills and specialist work

When work is handed to a specialist, the skills it needs go with it. See Delegated work for how that activity appears. Skills written for another coding agent in the same SKILL.md format work once they are in your skills folder.

For an overview with examples, see the Skills page.
